| Introduction |
In recent years the The international children's folklore and game festival has become the most eagerly anticipated summer event in Taiwan . There are four main areas of activity: performances, exhibits, games, and interaction. All of these give children large and small plenty of opportunities to relish the joys of childhood. |
| Key Features |
Apart from the organizer's main exhibition, what gets everybody chattering delightedly about this event every year are the facilities for water games in the Games area, whose popularity is unsurpassed. Staff and students from university departments of architecture throughout Taiwan come together to build these on the banks of the Dongshan river ( 冬山河 , Dongshan He ), combining their knowledge and interest to create structures that never fail to enthrall visitors. |
| Transportation |
From Taipei, if traveling by car, you may take the Bei Yi Highway, National Route 9 ( 北宜公路台 9 線 , Bei Yi Gong Lu Tai Jiu Sian ), in the direction of Yilan. Alternatively, from Rueifang ( 瑞芳 , Rueifang ), Keelung ( 基隆 , Jilong ), take the Bin Hai Highway, National Route 2 ( 濱海公路台 2 線 , Bin Hai Gong Lu, Tai Er Sian ). From central Taiwan, travel in the direction of Nantou and, after Puli, take National Route 14 “Jia” ( 台 14 甲 , Tai Shisi Jia ) towards Da Yuling ( 大禹嶺 , Da Yuling ), followed by National Route 8 ( 台 8 線 , Tai Ba Sian ) towards Lishan ( 梨山 , Lishan), and, at Lishan, take National Route 7 ( 台 7 線 ) to Yilan. As far as public transport is concerned, you may take a train to Luodong ( 羅東 ), and then take a Kuo Kuang Ke Yun ( 國光客運 , Guo Guang Ke Yun) bus. Alternatively, take a Kuo Kuang Ke Yun, Zun Long Ke Yun ( 尊籠客運 , Zun Long Ke Yun ), or Yi Sing Ke Yun ( 宜興客運 , Yi Sing Ke Yun) bus in the direction of Yilan, and, at Luodong, take a Kuo Kuang Ke Yun bus to the Qinshui Park stop ( 親水公園站 , Qinshui Gongyuan Zhan). |
